Gianki's Brithday Dinner!

Gianki came over early, so we chatted about Tim's wedding, and watched a little Modern Family while getting dinner ready. We had a delicious cheese plate, along with glasses of prosecco and sparkling pomegranate juice (for those of us who aren't currently indulging in "the drink"). For dinner we had steak, roasted potatoes, and a tomato cucumber salad. Dessert involved a decadent double chocolate cheesecake, courtesy of Pao and Chris... and the pantry... and berries with mint and creme fraiche. Delish!!! We finished off the night with a late movie. We watched The Fighter, and even though I thought Chris might explode from frustration, I think we all really liked it!

McGinty & White... live!

ok, don't know if anyone still reads this, but just in case...

last month my friend Ward had a show, and asked if i'd be willing to videotape it so he could post it on youtube. he was thinking i'd just shoot hand held with my little old camcorder... i was thinking bigger.

i enlisted my friend Scott, we borrowed some equipment from work, and with the cooperation of the venue were able to set up a nice little 3 camera shoot. i cut the show together, and am pretty happy with how it turned out. i'm not a shooter, so i'm not crazy about a lot of my camera work, but i felt like i finally got the hang of it by the last song, a beautiful cover of "Wichita Lineman"... better than the original Glen Campbell version, if you ask me.

when we have some time, we're going to do a nice mix on the audio and author a DVD, but for now we've posted the songs up on youtube for the world to enjoy! take a look... tell your friends... share the McGinty & White magic!

FIFI

well, i see it's been over a year since any of us published anything on this blog... so here's a little something. this past wednesday i worked on an overnight edit for Women's Wear Daily coverage of the FIFIs (fragrance foundation awards). it wound up being an 18 hour job... i think that's the record, so far. i couldn't find a way of embedding them, so here are links to the two videos:

now that i've had a chance to rest, and my brain isn't fried anymore, i've noticed a couple of stupid mistakes... but hey, they weren't caught by the client, nor by the editors who took care of the revisions the next day, so i'm not worrying about it. my friend, angela, was the one conducting the red carpet interviews... she managed to get a picture with Dustin Hoffman, and surprisingly, he's taller than her.

Como ven parece que Pocho logró entrar en el blog ... again ... pero yo no estaba mirando lo que hacía. Otra vez estoy a fojas cero. Otra vez será.

Chomp, chomp - seguro que esa ardilla está terminando su merienda mientras espera. No hay que descuidar la comida!!! Bueno, gracias por el "update" del departamento que recien estoy revisando en detalle. Un poco lento soy . . . jejeje.

Aquí con huelga de transporte - hasta ahora más o menos con calma - pero la prolongación y falta de solución preocupa. Los próximos días serán cruciales. Esperemos que todo avance pacíficamente.
